Stephanie sighed, looking around a bit before leaning back in her seat. She was out of class, having made a trip to JFK to wait. Bucky had written her, letting her know he would be coming home early and since then she'd been counting the days, waiting for her best friend to get back from the army.
She was nervous. They hadn't seen one another since he'd enlisted at 18. She was 23 now and she knew she looked a lot different. Gone was the gangly, scrawny teen girl that no one ever glanced at twice. No, Stephanie had grown at least a few inches, putting her at 5'6 (still short), but she'd definitely filled out in all the ways that mattered.
Course, she'd finally presented as well. The doctors had all said because of her health problems growing up that she would likely never present. She would go through life as a Null. Not even considered a beta. But on her 21st birthday something had changed. She'd felt sick at first and that had turned into her first heat. She stood up when she heard the announcement for Bucky's plane, running to the head of the terminal to wait for him.

"Fancy meeting you in a place like this." He said to her. "Wow, Steph. You really came into your own while I was gone. You look fantastic. Not that you didn't always look great." He said dropping his bag in front of her and reaching to pull her into a hug.

"Bucky!" She waited for a moment before jumping at him, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug, pressing close. Likely, to anyone seeing them, it would look like a couple reuniting and several people smiled as they passed before she pulled away. "Yeah...a lot changed. Not sick anymore." She said, pushing her hair out of her face and back over her shoulder. The sweet, subtle omega scent of her drifting in the air between them. She saw his arm though, hesitating before concern filled her expression. "Buck..you didn't tell me..." Her hands hovered before resting on his chest. "God...you're okay, right? You're healing alright?"
no subject
"Yeah...I'm okay. I mean it hurts...they call it phantom pains. But it's mostly healed. Once the skin and stuff is all good I could probably get a prosthetic or something. I'm not worried about it right now...even if things are very had with only one arm. Getting dressed especially...or taking a shower."

"I was kind of embarrassed. Wasn't sure how to write about it, but...yeah. I'm an omega now." She shrugged, ducking her head a bit before wrapping her arm around him, leaning into him under his arm. "You can stay with me. I live in an apartment by myself. Just off campus." She walked with him outside, stopping in front of her motorcycle before frowning. "Will you be okay to ride? I mean, I could leave it and call a cab...come back and get it later."
She brushed her fingers through her hair before reaching out and touching him again. She just couldn't believe he was home and it was obvious how happy she was. She'd missed him so much.

Could take the bike and I could take this home." He said holding up his oversized go bag. "Can't exactly hold this and you sadly." He smiled softly. "And yeah...um..if you want me too I'll live with you. Better than living at moms or with Beccs."

She bit her lip as she thought about it before smiling. "I have a solution what would work for both of us." She pulled out her phone, tapping out a message. "My friend Sam works just outside the airport. I'll leave the keys here." She looked around before slipping the key into a hiding place she'd made for it. "He'll bring it back tonight. Means he won't have to ride the bus." She said before turning a bit and leaning into his side. She hugged him again, pressing her face against his chest and inhaling his familiar Alpha scent. "God I missed you so much..."

She pulled him to the cab, getting in and sliding over before watching him. Once he was in the cab she was close again, lightly flipping her hair back over her shoulder. "Umm, yeah definitely a shower and I could order chinese. I mean, I'm gonna have to order extra anyways. I'm...well." She hesitated, blushing brightly and ducking her head. "About 3 days out from my heat. Sam said I shouldn't have even come to the airport, but I couldn't NOT be here to get you. To see you." She said shyly.

"Stephanie Gael Rogers, you are an absolute idiot!" He said his voice full of concern and shock. "How in the...what would your Ma say if she knew what you were doing?! You were just asking for trouble and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something awful happened to you because of me. Please...please promise me you won't ever take a risk like that again. Please!" He reached for her hand and stared into her eyes. His own were misty with worry and fear of what could have happened to her if she were in a less crowded spot. The crowd in the airport is probably what kept her safe to be honest. To many scents intermingled for anyone to pay too much attention to hers. But if she'd been alone walking down the street....sure it didn't happen as much anymore...but there were still knot heads who didn't care. They'd take anyone who crossed their path they could overtake.
"I don't know this Sam, but I like him already. He sounds smart. Sensible. You should listen to him more often."

"I'm not a complete idiot, Buck. I do make sure to protect myself." She said softly, though she couldn't help the way she was staring at him. "I just wanted to be here. If it was any closer I would have sent Sam..." She whined softly, pouting and scooting into his side. "I wanted to be here. Its been seven years..." She murmured, clinging to him, though she wouldn't look him in the eyes.

"Just..be smart okay...please? I'd die if I lost you." He admitted honestly and kissed the crown of her head. '"Oh...um..you said three days...you sure you want me in your place then? I know we always kind of hoped we could...but do you still want me to court you?"

She blinked, staring up at him suddenly for a moment before nodding. She lifted her head without even thinking before pressing her lips against his, fingers cupping his face. When she pulled back she started blushing darkly, covering her face. "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done that without asking you."

Stephanie stared at him before nodding and licking her lips slowly in anticipation. "Yeah. We...we can do it again." She whispered, leaning in closer to him. "Umm...and I do. I...I want you to stay. With me. Through it."

"Well then...I guess after my shower we gotta make sure we got everything huh?"

She nodded, leaning in against his side and laying her head on his shoulder. "I love you, Buck. Always have." She admitted quietly, wrapping her arms back around his waist and sighing quietly. Her eyes closed for the moment and she just relaxed.

"We're here kiddos." The older man said and Bucky reached for his wallet to pay the fee. He climbed out and grabbed his bag before following Stephanie to her apartment.

She waved to the cabbie before leading him upstairs and unlocking the door. Once inside she slowly wrapped her arms around him, tugging him in for a quick kiss. "Go shower. I'm gonna order food." She pecked his lips again. "I'm gonna order extra. And maybe the grocery service around the block. They help omegas."

He comes back into the living room in sweats, a towel around his shoulders. "Can you help me dry my hair?"
no subject
"Yeah I have a washer and dryer. We'll take care of all that soon enough." She curled up on the couch, just trying to relax as much as she can. Her body was keying itself up and she felt like she was going crazy.
Then he was back and she moved, grabbing the towel and slowly working to dry his hair out.

She settled easily, wrapping her arms around his neck before pulling him into another kiss and sighing against his lips. "I love you, Buck. Could never regret being with you...always wanted to." She whispered softly, blushing at the admission. "Never thought you would want me...with everyone thinking I was a Null before." She ducked her head, biting her lip.

She smiled at that, blushing before laying her head on his shoulder. "Oh um...should be here in about 30 minutes or so? Why don't we go ahead and throw some of your laundry in then?" She asked, pecking his lips before moving to get up. "Come on. We'll do that real quick."

She slipped her arms around his neck at the kiss, leaning back against the machine as she pulled him into another one. "Call her so she won't worry. Tell her I said hi." She murmured, bumping their noses together.

Stephanie just waited for him, letting him have a little bit of privacy as she shifted on the couch after sitting down. She stretched out, letting her arms stretch out above her head which made her shirt expose her stomach a bit. She closed her eyes, just waiting and humming softly to herself. She knew her scent was getting stronger and she squirmed just a bit.

"Can you help put the groceries away, then we can eat and maybe...have some fun before your heat gets fully involved."
no subject
"Yeah I can do that." She got up, slipping over to him and kissing his shoulder. Then she grabbed the bags, carrying them into the kitchen. A few things went into her bedroom as well, but she got everything organized fairly quickly before making her way to the living room again. She went through the food, humming before looking over at him and patting the couch next to her.
"Promise I'm not gonna bite." She said quietly, tilting her head.
