It had been a rough mission and Stephanie hadn't made it back unscathed this time. She was laying in her room at the Avengers base looking like hell and she knew it. She wasn't expecting any visitors, she really was hoping she didn't get any, but of course it couldn't be that easy.
So when a knock came to the door she groaned, pulling her pillow over her face and hoping that if she didn't answer they would go away. Not that they would. Of course not. So she just laid there, figuring it would be one of the doctors that had been coming and going for the last couple of hours, the ones who kept on talking about how her healing was miraculous and how lucky she was to be alive.
She really just wantd to punch something.

This was home, or the closest to it he'd ever find. Even the angel slowed it's pace for a moment, as those emotions of peace settled over the ancient soul. For this precious moment neither man nor angel had any thought other then her...of how good it felt to be so loved.
