The look of relief on her face actually brought on a twinge of guilt within him when Johnny realized he had been away for longer then he thought. In truth it was hard to keep track of time when the Rider was taking the wheel, and while he had only meant to be away for a week or so, nearly two months had gone by without the man noticing. Vengeance was a powerful force, and mortal concerns tended to slip away when his focus was so honed. Still seeing her smile stirred up other emotions as well, liking longing and joy.

His brow furrowed as Blaze looked her over and listened to her words, but instead of saying a thing he simply leaned down to brush his lips against her skin. Warmth coursed through those kisses of his, as the raw power of the angel washed over her flesh. The bruises faded slowly yet not completely, and he took his time to move down to hear side where the bandages were. It took a moment to carefully unwrap them, but the sight of the stitches and bit of blood didn't give him pause.

Instead his tongue traced around the freshly closed up bullet wound, and while he couldn't mend her fully Blaze did what he could to ease the ache she felt. At last he laid down beside her, fingers now caressing her exposed stomach as Johnny nuzzled against her neck. "You'll be right as rain in no time, love. Nothing can keep my girl down for long."
